With your support over the years, we have been able to help people in many ways:

  • Publishing the quarterly CFIDS/FM UPDATE – the largest and most comprehensive CFIDS/FM publication in the US
  • Supporting and encouraging members through the largest network of support groups in the country – over 30 support groups throughout New England
  • Helping educate, inform and empower our members through our extensive education programs and resources like our lending library
  • Providing daily support for isolated members in need of a comforting conversation through our support/info line
  • Responding to individuals in need of information whether they are newly diagnosed with the illnesses or new to the area by way of our Information Line or through our website
  • Offering physician referrals by phone
  • Assisting members with one-on-one disability guidance
  • Helping children and families in need of medical services, support and advocacy at school due to disbelief of CFIDS/FM
  • Organizing critical advocacy/legislative campaigns at the local, state and national level
  • Running public awareness campaigns, locally and at a national level
  • Attending and reporting on numerous national CFIDS/FM conferences
  • Promoting special event programs, such as the New England Premiere of the award-winning documentary film about CFIDS/FM entitled “I Remember Me”

As you can see there is much at stake here!

Mass. CFIDS/FM Association is the oldest patient support organization in the country. We started our support groups in 1984 and formalized our statewide organization in 1985. 2003 will mark a major milestone – our 20th year of dedicated public service to our members – please don’t let this be our last year.

When we started, these illnesses did not even have a name, let alone any treatment options. We pioneered many issues through our advocacy campaigns. Although we still have miles to go, the collective advocacy efforts of groups like ours have moved us through some very difficult years. There is frustration and discouragement about the progress of research and treatment for CFIDS and FM, as well as the state of public policy in Washington. This is all the more reason for us to maintain our visibility and voice on behalf of our patient community – remember, there is strength in numbers. The groundwork to keep us moving forward has been laid through the unselfish commitment of highly dedicated volunteers over the past 20 years. We have reached out and helped literally thousand of people with CFIDS and FM.

Don’t let all of our hard-fought efforts go in vain!

Mass. CFIDS/FM Association truly wants to continue providing these resources to you and the many more individuals who will need our help in the days, weeks and years to come. But we can’t carry the weight by ourselves any longer. We are a mutual aid association and in critical need of your immediate assistance!

Please send in your donation at once – time is of the essence!!

Thank you so much for your continuing support. Every donation you make is tax-deductible.
